How do I feel? LARGE.

Lots to cover in this update... thanksgiving, St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend, growing belly...

I know the first thing all of you were wondering, though... if the babies were well fed and liked their Thanksgiving feast. Well, I have to say - I took 2 tries at it, but I was able to put away a full portion of Thanksgiving food. And a piece of pie! This of course was to my breathing and comfort detriment. But SO worth it!! Favorite food by far was the sweet potato casserole! And the babies were moving around a good bit which leads me to believe they were super happy. 😁 I do feel them move all the time. Every once in a while I feel them move at the same time and can tell the difference in which is which. It’s kinda surreal to feel 2 babies moving around. But it’s amazing to know they’re doing good and thriving. Already they are so strong! I was able to record w a video them moving around for the IPs. You can see their kicks every once in a while. The IPs haven’t been able to feel them move yet, but it’s gonna be any day!!!

This week, we are 23 weeks. There’s over 2lbs of baby inside my belly (more like 2.5 lbs) and that also seems surreal!!! TWO POUNDS! No wonder it’s so hard for me to bend over. We have 2 more weeks till we are in the 3rd trimester. Isn’t that crazy!!?? The 3rd trimester is the home stretch. But I already feel like I’m as big as the broad side of a barn! And, I know I’ve still got a long ways to go. People seem to feel the need to remind me that I still have like 16 weeks left. -
Don't worry. I haven't forgotten

People ask me often how I'm doing and my honest answer is "Large". As I normally say, 2 is exponentially more than 1. I'm tired, but doing really well. I'm just happy I am able to go on this journey with my IPs (who so deserve to be parents) and help in this way. People ask me if this is different than my other pregnancies. It is in the way that I'm getting bigger much faster. And that I can feel 2 babies move at once sometimes. Oh, I do get tired quicker. But it's not real different other than that. Pretty par for the course, overall.

What's happening in Preggers world:

  • Heart burn city! Almost every day...
  • Notable difference in carrying 1 vs 2 babies... with 2 in there, my belly is more wide at this stage than with 1. not so much bigger around, but wider, if that makes sense
  • No room in my belly, more often than not, I can’t eat a real meal
  • I also have a hard time with limited lung capacity so i get winded easily and makes me feel like I'm super out of shape. All of this probably leads to other issues noted below...
  • Babies are moving all the time! it's kinda exciting because now people can feel it :)
  • Bending over is hard to do, which also means putting on my shoes is hard work - and makes me even more thankful for the boyfriend who will take my shoes off for me without me even having to ask... He's so good to me
  • I'm sleeping better overall now. But my joints have started to ache because of the baby hormones (Relaxin)
  • When i have to do something like turn over in bed or walk somewhere, i get out of breath. It's hilarious how much the little things take out of me
  • My face is starting to fill out and I'm starting to swell. which means babies are BIG...
  • It's hard to get up. Embarrassing and true
  • Babies are getting the hiccups. Its SO CUTE to feel them jump right now. I know that will change eventually, but for now, it's so cute!!!
  • I produce enough body heat for about 10 people
  • I crave water, citrus fruits
  • The babies must have bipolar tastes for food, bc I'll go get lunch and I get a plethora of weirdness... pineapple, pickled okra and soup? WEIRD, HUH???
  • Found my first NEW stretch mark... makes me sad in a way. but it's part of the process :)
So, I thought I'd share a cute pic of Mady. Each morning when we wake up for the morning routine, she says "Momma, they're still cookin!" and she hugs my belly. She's so excited about us growing babies to help out another family.
