Houston, we have a couple...

Hi Friends!!! i'm so happy to tell you all that we have FINALLY been paired (matched) with a couple for us to cook them a human. :) Chris and I are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo super happy. From what we know, they are SO LOVELY... We have already had such a huge journey thus far, and we are just happy to be paired with them. FINALLY!!!!

Let me just give you a bit of insight... we have had a long road already...

I wanted to start this journey after I had Mady. 2013. The whole time I was pregnant with her I considered, what would it be like if I was doing this for someone else?

After I had Mady, I started looking into 'how do I become a GC? (Gestational Carrier). I eventually reached out to TSE (The Surrogacy Experience - thesurrogacyexperience.com). It took a while to get started. - just pointing out the elephant in this blog - my husband and I had to deal with some stuff for a year or so before I could get started. And I'm able to give ALL CREDIT to God, we worked things out and now we are ready to go! So... now on to the requirements. 

 Paperwork. more paperwork. medical history transcripts. Dr. visits. blood tests. all this time. i'm just waiting for the next step... the whole time... what's my next step. :)  

 SO.. I bring us to present day... I have had to work hard to get my body into shape. I have had to do multiple blood tests to make sure my thyroid is good, get my iron checked like A THOUSAND TIMES... I've had to do 2 physicals.  This was the most frustrating part because I knew that I am in excellent health! I am working out 4 times a week and I feel better than I had in years!! So I knew I was good... why didn't everyone else!? :) I did receive a full clean bill of health! (this only took 2 months... LOL) and we get a visit from my dear sweet friend Tina... from TSE.

 At this point,... I'm ECSTATIC... We are finally getting on our way. Chris and I left that meeting with Tina thinking... we're finally going to get to do this! I think he was more excited by someone telling him that he'll get to give me shots in the butt. HAHA! (it's funny because it's true).

 The first time I was sent a profile to view of IP's (intended parents), I was at work giving a tour to this awesome group visiting the hospital (I work at St. Jude) and I almost fainted, I was SO EXCITED when I saw the email from Tina... at this point, it hit me, this is really happening!!! I was just... elated... 

 My heart has been invested in this for 3 years now. That my family will be able to help another family be created! 

 Our whole family will be able to give someone the gift of being a parent! the thing i love the most about my life... 

 so now... we have a couple that wants us and we want them and our next step... let's make a deal.

Hello again, friends. Today's installment will be talking about what all I've done since having the twins. I've had lots of positive feedback from my last blog and I want to thank all of you for your continued support, love and feedback.  In my last post, I talked about the emotional ups and downs I experienced but there has been so much more to tell you! Lets discuss the hard stuff...

It's been a while since I've posted... and I'm sorry for that. I am so grateful for the boyfriend and all of my friends/family who have reached out and checked up on me to see how I'm doing.  First question I know you're all wondering... How are the babies!? They are doing amazingly! Their parents are ROCKSTARS!!!! The babies are the sweetest and best nuggets ever!!! I'm so blessed that the parents allow me to keep up with them and see their adorable faces. This was an important aspect for me when deciding to pair up with the parents and they are very sweet to check on me even when they're raising two newborns! Next most common question I get is how are my emotions. This, in my opinion, is the hardest part of the experience/process. I expected to have the emotional roller coaster but there were so many things I didn't expect. I have never been one to hide away from pointing out the elephant in the room... so let's just get into this, shall we...

a world of change

Hi Friends! I know it has been WAY TOO LONG since I've updated you. I did exactly what I needed to do over the Holidays and that was rest and spend time with those I love. This was the first year I did not see my family in Texas. I do miss them so much, but it just wasn't safe for me to travel down there and due to the hurricane recovery, my family wasn't able to come up this way as they're still trying to finish getting their houses back together and find their new normal. But you can bet your rears I rested, napped, played with the kids, spent time with My Favorite and even was able to have a Christmas dinner and spend quality time with my IPs!  Well, when I went back to work last week, I started having contractions and started swelling pretty bad.
